Rollet or Roulette pastry is a light, moist sponge cake roll filled with whipped cream, jam or icing. Other names for this pastry are Swiss Roll, Jelly Roll, Roll Cake and Cream Roll.

In spite of the name Swiss roll, the cake is believed to have originated elsewhere in Central Europe, most likely Austria. It appears to have been invented in the nineteenth century.
